maracajau

// :MARACAJAÚ ( Diving, aquatic park, beach)

Maracajaú is located in Litoral Norte, 34 miles away from Natal, and its main attraction are the Maracajau “Parrachos”, a reef formation of corals and natural pools where several marine species can be seen.

arrecifes

Maracajaú offers a complete infrastructure for the practice of diving and scuba diving. There are many companies that take you on a catamaran to a floating platform situated 4 miles away from the coast where you can dive in crystal waters. It is very important to check out the tides table before going since there are days with better visibility that are more advisable for diving.

Obs. Maracajaú has also a great tourist infrastructure such as restaurants that offer the best regional dishes mainly with shellfish and fish as basic ingredients, swimming pools with bar, beach hammocks and a complete aquatic park. Maracajaú is surrounded by dunes and the scenery is amazing. A stroll at dusk along the beach of this lovely fishermen town will certainly be a pleasure for children and adults.

Caraubas is located just 2 miles towards the south. It is a small town similar to Maracajaú but smaller and without the infrastructure of hotels and restaurants. You will be able to appreciate the characteristics of these small coastal towns that still live from fishing. The beach is paradisiacal and there are big palm groves just by the beach. You can enjoy a jangada ride around the area and why not a stroll up to San Roque Cape, the nearest Brazilian point to Africa and Europe.
Farther on, in Maxaranguape town, we find the Tree of Love, a tree wonderfully shaped by the sea breeze. From that point, you can enjoy a beautiful sight of the beach and the palms.
